Hey friends,

I haven’t been great about posting regular updates on the blog here recently, as I’ve been very busy. I want to just give a quick update on how I’ve spent the last few weeks to keep you up to date:

  • I went home to see family for Christmas and New Year’s in December. You can read about that in this post.
  • I released my second album, Runaway, on December 28th, 2021. You can listen on Spotify or YouTube, or any other streaming service of your choice.
  • I flew back to Thailand in January and had to quarantine for seven days.

I used the quarantine – and the solitude that comes with it – as an opportunity to dig in and do some deep work. I challenged myself to write one song per day on a tiny keyboard to expand my musical and songwriting versatility.

The challenge was a success! I’m thrilled with the music that I composed. It’s interesting, unique, weird, emotive, and flows quite well. I’ll be spending some more time refining the sound of these tracks and then eventually releasing them as an EP.

You can listen to all seven songs on this YouTube playlist.

I also made a video showing my hotel room / studio space and describing the challenge:

As I write this now, I’m sitting in my hotel room in Bangkok on the seventh night of the quarantine. They’ll finally let me go tomorrow. I’ll spend one more day exploring Bangkok and then head back home to Chiang Mai.

More stories to come soon. I hope you’ve had a wonderful start to the new year and that you find some time and space to do the work that you’re most passionate about.

With peace & love,

Andrew
