Hue is the former capital of Vietnam and home to the Nguyen dynasty, which ruled the country from 1802-1945. Their Imperial Citadel complex is enormous, surrounded by a moat in the center of town. The tombs of emperors are scattered around the hills near town, each scratching the surface between the mortal and heavenly planes.
